Long hair for belly dancing?

iv been wondering and have noticed that practically every belly dancer has long hair. I, on the other hand, have short hair, spikey in the back, and straight bangs.i havn't rly liked having my hair long cuz of the way it looked and how hard it was to take care of. should i give it a shot in growing it out again to make the dancing more traditional looking or does it even matter?

doesnt matter how long your hair is. Your dance moves are what counts. dont worry about it.

Just as long as the hair is not on your belly it really shouldn't matter. I don't ever even recall what any belly dancers hair looked like that I have ever watched. I was focused in another area.
