Can long hair and short hair cats get along well?

We have two short hair nice cats and we brought in a long hair cat about two weeks ago, and they just don't seem to get along, still hissing at each other. Will they ever get along or is it that long hair and short hair cannot get along together very much?

The length of their hair isn't a factor--it's personality. Respectfully, unless you were trying to "save" the long hair, you should have asked the person / place where you got the cat if you could see if the "new cat in town" could get along with the two you already have. Don't give up on the new cat--give it time. After 6 weeks, if it's still happening, ask your vet for a solution.

it dosn't matter if there hair is long or not it depends on the mood they are in when they meet and what breed they are and what gender they are.

The legnth of a cats fur really dosent make a difference on whether or not cats like eachother.

While longer haired cats are generally more calm, they should be able to cohabitate with short haired cats just fine.

Since they are still pretty new to eachother, it's normal for htem to not want to be around eachother. They will get used to eachother. They may not like eachother necessarily, but they will learn to get along.

It has nothing to do with the hair. Cats aren't "racist" . It's a territorial issue, as you introduced a new cat into the territory of the other cats. If they are only hissing, you're probably doing pretty well. They will also have issues to do with dominance heirarchy, and they'll have to find a way to work it out.
